Encova Insurance vice president, internal audit and chief audit executive recognized as NACD directorship certified

Encova Insurance today announced that the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) recently recognized Vice President, Internal Audit and Chief Audit Executive Dr. Martin (Skip) John Langlois, Jr. as NACD Directorship CertifiedTM. NACD certified directors who earn NACD Directorship CertificationTM signal to boards, investors and other stakeholders that they possess the highest commitment to continuing director education available in the United States.

The NACD Directorship Certification program, the only program of its kind in the United States, provides a tangible assessment of a director’s understanding of the essential knowledge required to lead in today’s boardrooms. Certification also facilitates continuous learning and allows directors to showcase their governance knowledge to the companies they serve and other stakeholders in the broader governance community.

“I am honored to join the distinguished and diverse group of individuals who make up the NACD Directorship Certification community and who are committed to advancing the highest standards of boardroom excellence,” Langlois said. “The information I’ve learned and verified via NACD’s certification program are key assets to the companies I serve, as well as to my professional growth as a director.”

“NACD Certified Directors demonstrate their keen awareness that directorship is a profession that, like all professions, requires continuous learning,” NACD CEO Peter R. Gleason said. “Skip is leading the way in achieving and maintaining the highest credential available to directors in the United States.”

In addition to his role at Encova, Langlois is a board and audit committee member for the Ohio FAIR Plan and a board member of the Central Ohio Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors and Pioneer West Virginia Federal Credit Union. Skip is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). He has more than 24 years of experience in auditing and is a United States Coast Guard veteran with 12 years of service. He has a bachelor’s degree from the United States Coast Guard Academy as well as Strayer University, a master’s degree in business administration and professional accountancy from the University of South Dakota and a Doctorate in Executive Leadership from University of Charleston in West Virginia.
