Motorists concludes capital campaigns in Discovery District

In 2013, Motorists pledged support to the Columbus Museum of Art and the Columbus Metropolitan Library, two key neighbors of the Motorists Building and two central components of the Discovery District. With a final gift to the Columbus Museum of Art, we completed our pledges to both organizations through the Motorists Insurance Group Foundation.

Motorists’ gift to the Columbus Metropolitan Library supported their Great Libraries Create campaign, allowing them to renovate the main library located directly behind the Motorists Building, neighboring the Topiary Park. The renovation increased public space and access to the library’s resources, technology, public meeting spaces and conference rooms.

Motorists’ gift to the Columbus Museum of Art supported their Art Matters campaign. The funds raised went to the addition of the new wing, the Pavillion, Schokko Café and Museum Store. The museum was able to bring major exhibitions to Columbus, including the Picasso show in June 2016 and their recent Harlem Renaissance exhibition.

Our commitment is to make the communities we serve a better place to live and work, and it is an honor to take part in the evolution of the Discovery District in downtown Columbus. We are excited for both the Columbus Metropolitan Library and the Columbus Museum of Art’s successes and look forward to their continued growth and accomplishments.
