New .insurance domain extension now available
The internet domain extension ".insurance" was recently made available. Licensed agencies, brokers or other equivalents are all eligible to register with this new domain. Domains are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
"Any organization, big or small, can apply, but they will need to pass some quite stringent verification processes which ensure that the domain names can only be used by verified members of the insurance community," said Stuart Fuller of NetNames, an online brand protection firm.
The new domain extension also promises better searchability since it already contains a high value keyword.
